Swallowtail Enjoying the Bee Balm

Just what I’d hoped for when I planted a lot of milkweed, bee balm, liatris, buddleia, and gaura last spring and fall…loads of pollinators. Walked in my backyard which is entirely rock, except for planters, because I live in Northwest Arkansas (USA) and everything is rock. On top of that, my townhouse is in a retirement subdivision which restricts plantings. So, if it’s going to be good for pollinators, it’s going mostly in containers. I was so happy to see a dozen swallowtails flitting around. Hopefully some Monarchs will come. The milkweed is habitat for their caterpillars. What a joy to be able to do something for the environment!
