East Aquhorthies

A day working from my hotel today although I did manage a swim in the hotel pool and a walk up Bennachie to the Mither Tap. I though this was the highest summit on Bennachie, but it’s only the second-highest. On the way there we picked up cousin Stanley, and on the way back stopped to see the Maiden Stone and the East Aquhorthies Stone Circle. These stone circles are from the Bronze Age Picts and are unique to Aberdeenshire and parts of Ireland. This one is the best example, and my blip today.
