Lime Swallowtail

What a smashing day. It was the grand reopening of the Butterfly House in Victoria Park, Widnes after being closed for three years. The weather was lovely and we had over 800 visitors in our 4 hours of opening, so a real success I’d say. The Mayor of Halton and a local councillor performed the opening ceremony and we had music, children’s crafts and bamboo sculptures.

After what was a very hot day in the tropical temperature of the glasshouse, we went to my parents for dinner and have been watching the football and the Commonwealth Games since then.

Well done the Lionesses who became European Champions with a 2-1 win against Germany. Amazing scenes at the end.
