Trotton brass

After a very muggy walk we visited St George’s Church at Trotton.
This is the tomb of 1st Baron Thomas de Camoys and his wife Elizabeth. Baron Camoys fought at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 where he was in command of the left flank, and his wife was the inspiration for the character of Gentle Kate in Henry IV by William Shakespeare. Unusually they are shown holding hands.
