Buddha's Grotto.

This grotto is another part of Barnwell Priory (1112) still standing and is in a corner of the garden in Abbey House, yesterday's entry. Originally the statue would have been one of the Augustine Priory's religious icons, but as the house is now occupied by The Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, a statue of Buddha now graces the grotto. So, having finished this little trip into the past, I shall be heading off in another direction tomorrow.
