Diesel Day

After a morning cycle ride we went up to Toddington where the local heritage railway was hosting a weekend of diesel hauled trains. T was not impressed by all the fumes. The loco on the right is a Deltic “Royal Highland Fusilier 55019” that used to roar between Edinburgh and King’s Cross at speeds of 95 mph. It was the transport of our courting days when I left London at 16h and was in Waverley 6 hours later. On this line, maximum speed is 25mph.
