Dry

P and I walked to the farm shop this morning. A pleasant and healthy alternative to shopping in the supermarket. The farm shop isn’t cheaper, but much better value. Its produce has been grown locally, mostly organically, and it’s always fresh.

The walk took us through orchards and along the edge of a woodland. Many trees show signs of how much they have suffered in the recent dry, hot years, and the current summer will only add to their stress. The next heatwave is building up already - with up to 37 degrees C, and 13 hours of sunshine every day.
