Day 6 - Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus - back blip

The day started with another delicious breakfast. We visited Thorvaldsen’s Lion’s monument that was dedicated to the Swiss Guards who died protecting the French royalty during the French Revolution. We walked along the famous Chapel bridge and briefly visited St. Francis Xavier Catholic church with its trademark onion-topped towers. We went to St. Leodegar Catholic Church, one more breathtaking building, inside and out. We were unable to have Mass there so we drove to St. Paul Church in Lucerne. Every day, as we marvel at the gorgeous architecture in these towns/cities/country sides, I can appreciate some of your blips even more. It can take years to photograph all of the available scenes. My hardest challenge is limiting my blips to nine photos and still giving a glimpse of what we saw. Our afternoon was spectacular with a cable car trip that gave us beautiful views of Lucerne on our way up to Mt. Pilatus. We each had chicken tenders and fries for lunch on the summit and hubby got a bottle of water. The bill was over $75; we chose the most economical meal! While Hubby walked to the top, my sister and I enjoyed the views from key lookouts. We were above the clouds so it was hard to get many photos of views looking down the mountain. We went back to the hotel and had dinner. Thanks for visiting. Still cannot figure how to publish yesterday’s blip. Even though I created a new collage, I am still getting an error. We are avoiding news but support for Ukraine is widespread here. Stay safe folks. “May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” – Edward Abbey
