House sparrows

The sparrows like to hang out at the very top of the hawthorn bush when they aren't foraging under the seed feeder. We counted more than 20 there the other day, which is good news as house sparrows are far less common than they used to be. They also spend a lot of time in the berberis hedge. I don't know if they are feeding on the purple berries or finding a lot of insects.
