Newark Park

We hadn't been to Newark Park NT for 10 years, so we decided today was the day for a revisit. To be honest we found it a bit bland and uninspiring, certainly photographically. There are clearly some great views from its position high on the ridge of the Cotswold escarpment, but I couldn't find anything to make a decent composition. I looked back 10 years and most of the photos I took today were similar to the ones from back then. I don't think we will be going back again soon. On our previous visit there was a vintage car rally there which was much more interesting than the property itself. Maybe it will be worth another visit when there is an event on.

In other news there were lots of bees and butterflies at last in the garden this morning. I saw a peacock and comma on the buddleia, and a common blue and lots of whites on the lavender. There were lots of butterflies and bees at Newark too.
