Newhaven bridge opening.

I was at the Sidings Bistro with my son for lunch and had a view of the bridge opening. Hard to see the gap, I know, but it is there! The bridge openings cause massive traffic jams in both directions along the A259 - main route between Brighton and Eastbourne. I always thought they'd only open for large boats, eg those transferring rubbish to the incinerator. But today 2 small yachts went through. If they'd put their masts down they would have gone through OK.

Postscript: I am told by "one who knows" that it isn't so easy to put down these masts.
