Busy Bees

We had a trip out to Wentworth Castle, near Barnsley (National Trust), meeting up with our daughter and granddaughters - driving down it didn’t look such a great idea as it poured all the way. Fortunately it had pretty much stopped when we arrived…so after a coffee / cake stop we set off for a walk around the grounds. I think Mum was pleased to see the girls running around and burning off some energy…the second day of the school holiday had not started well - only five weeks to go :-)

On our way back to the car we passed through the formal garden and spotted loads of bees on the artichoke flowers, still very busy. An ‘X-rated’ extra - one pair were getting extra busy!

It turned out quite warm, but overcast, and remained dry while we were there. Result…
