Mum…

Popped in to visit my mum today, her sense of humour remains intact despite her cognitive decline.

Dementia is not an easy disease, I’m seeing some anger creeping in and confusion is an ever present symptom. Her memory has all but gone and it’s very difficult to get conversation flowing in the right direction. 

Hearing your mother say she wants to die is heartbreaking at the best of times but as her memories slip and confusion takes over I can understand her feelings.
