Shadow Self

Grasshopper? katydid? I've found these creatures on this Julia Child rose before, so they must be permanent residents, or at least seasonal. I don't see them on any other rose, and I'm not aware that they cause any damage. I had about an hour of deadheading before I took to my chair and pointed at stuff for the landscaper to do. A good arrangement!
