Time goes by

You know when I said "its Spring", I may have been a little premature, today we did have some lovely bright sunshine but we also had hail! I headed out after lunch and it was bright and sunny, I was lucky enough to be on the bus when we got hit by a pretty heavy hail shower, I got a pretty good photo out the bus window of the road covered in hail, but I posted it on Instagram, I went up past Tollcross to check out a pub I heard had been refurbished (now called The Blackbird) but looking through the window I couldn't see any cask ales on the bar so I didn't go in (online reviews suggest it's a cocktail bar that also does quite good food), maybe another time when I fancy a bite to eat.

While it was dry I took a wander over to the meadows, the sky was almost completely grey with the odd patch of blue, I was hoping for another bright colourful spring photo but ended up going for something different instead when I couldn't find much colour! After taking a number of photos and chasing a couple grey squirrels around for a while I headed to Cloisters bar, where I knew I'd find a couple decent pints before heading home.

The big hill in the background is of course Arthur's Seat, the column in the foreground is apparently a sundial which was erected in commemoration of the opening of the International Exhibition by Prince Albert victor of Wales on 8th May 1886.
