It is Friday!

Burgundy's is just not the same without Ted, so we wish him well for a speedy recovery. We miss his wit, drumming, his goon laughter, his risqué stories and colourful clothes. Also his support for everybody that becomes part of the Burgundy jazz scene. So looking forward to seeing you back Ted, with your drums.

But everybody rallied round to ensure the evening was as good as ever - Susie on helping to arrange the room and helping people to part with their money for the raffle and of course "wishing everybody to win". Jim Hatfield of Kendal Jazz Club managed the raffle with Norman handing out the many prizes. Mike Pennington, the owner and great supporter of the Thursday night jazz for the past 9 years or so, was on the bar.

Last night it was the awesome talented MBQ with Peter Kassell on guitar, John Powney on drums, Mr Wildgoose on bass guitar and Mervyn Bean himself on trumpet. John Powney on drums, was a late replacement for Mike Kidson and was rapidly at one with the other three.

And a great surprise as I was leaving, the lovely Karen Mitchell was in the main bar and very happy as she was on sabbatical and full of creative ideas.
