Day 2 of rain

Yesterday I emptied 80mm from my rain gauge. That was last week's rain. Today there was 70mm in it. I'm glad that I could work from home today.

Jasper makes the occasional foray outside. I can read the patten of his wet, muddy paws. Food bowl (empty), water bowl (located separately), then back to look outside and check the weather, and lastly to to sit at my feet while I work.

Today's gratitude: For the first Grey Warbler (Riroriro) I've seen and heard in my backyard. They're endemic to NZ and clever adapters. This one happily sang and feasted on tiny insects in several trees and scrubs this afternoon. What a joy! My garden is doing its job.
