I’m working on a few projects for Mercer Old Home Days. We always make the Mercer Meeting House a pivotal part of the weekends festivities. It’s not only the oldest building standing in Mercer (besides family homes), but it’s the reason behind the weekend itself.

This building and it’s grounds held the official first Old Home Days in 1936. But for a century before that it was the center of all activities in town, Weddings, graduations, town meetings, funerals, and Sunday church services. This one building did it all.

I love finding old photos, the trees are no longer as pictured, and the road no longer at that angle, but the one pillar of history stands in the same place, in relation he same condition as it did in this photo.
