Wendy in the woods

We took Wendy to see the Champion Trees at Stagshaw today, and she was very impressed by their huge size and lovely bark. She walked all the way up the very steep hill on her own! Crossing the river was very exciting too!
Then we spotted Grandad right down at the bottom and went round to meet him.
This evening I had an interesting email, the analysis results of last summer’s honey sample, see extra. It’s fascinating to see what they have been nectaring  on, and obviously blackberry was the main thing! And some garden flowers, and of course Himalayan Balsam! It was delicious honey.
I have just harvested the first for this year, and will send off a sample of that. The results don’t come in for a long time, as it requires DNA analysis which is done as part of a research project. We get the results as a thanks for taking part, so it’s not a service they have to provide to a time schedule.
