Two halves
She may look like an angel on this picture (taken this morning) but it was a day of two halves.
The day started well with the sun streaming through into the kitchen, Chris Evans on the radio and Audrey and I merrily eating American Pancakes together.
The day finished with Audrey having a mystery screaming fit in the car on the way to an NCT get-together. Seriously, I must have the only baby that doesn't sleep in a car!!
As we were stuck in traffic, the screaming just got worse and worse. We finally arrived in Didsbury and I pulled in quickly (close to tears at this stage) and brought Audrey into the front seat to settle her. No such luck. The screaming continued. To make matters worse, it turned out that I was blocking someone's drive in and they impatiently beeped at me. It was a complete disaster. Had my only mini meltdown as I tried to quickly place a screaming child back in the car seat she'd just been freed from.
Then turned round and just went home. I couldn't face it.
In the end, the only thing that would stop her screaming on the return leg was me talking on the car phone so I phoned my husband and made him stay on the phone until we got home. Horrendous! And I thought baby dramas like that were consigned to the early days of motherhood. I was right back there today!
