Houndstooth check

Houndstooth check was popular in the 1960s but this dress isn't from then. It's a bit of a revival from a local retailer who sources some beautiful fabrics, makes the clothes herself or has them made here. It's far from fast fashion, provides employment and is reasonably priced.

When I tried this dress on (5 ya) I wasn't comfortable by its shortness and raw edge at the bottom. I said I'd like it with a black piece to fix these problems and she offered to do it for me. Come pick up time I asked how much and she refused payment. Clever woman. Plenty of purchases since then!

Oh and in case your wondering, the other colour is orange.
