Wherever you have sparrows you'll eventually have sparrowhawks, and two have been flying by  recently. This afternoon our resident blackbird chased the female hawk round the garden, finally driving her off over the house,. Pretty gutsy stuff, given she's about three times his size. This is immedaitely afterwards, when he was still sounding the alarm.
