Bashful

I’m not sure if this sunny face is bashful, or just showing off its extra long eyelashes, but either way it got my attention :) • We relish any that we get because our dear deer are as fond of them as we are. This particular plant is a volunteer, sprouting up from underneath bird feeders. I always leave 8-10 alone when weeding and even water them on occasion. This is the only one left from the original bunch! Last night most of the ones purposely planted in back of the veggie garden were nibbled. 4’ tall is an ideal height, I guess! • MrsP can’t understand why the dear deer continue to visit during the summer. “They have plenty to eat out in the woods!” My reply is always the same: “Our yard is like a candy store!” Wouldn’t you pass up a crunchy stick or a mouthful of dry leaves for a big, fat, soft and sweet, chewy flower? • We finished up our to-do list for the shed and have everything ready for the contractor to begin his work tomorrow morning!
