The Garden Trail.
The first grade top left is a garden all about re- using, reclamation, recycling, and upcycling.
The floor of this delightful corner is covered in multicoloured glass pebbles.
Surprised to see a collection of motorbikes on the driveway of this house, with a wonderful back garden
Next two photos are of a stunning Japanese themed garden, built on a hillside. It has won many gold medals, and I can certainly see why.
Another surprise round the back of an old end terrace house. This garden has been completely remodelled since the owners took over in 2016.
It features a miniature steam railway, pond fruit trees and vegetable bed.
Just loved all the trains, especially one with Her Majesty waving from the last goods carriage.
Lastly a very large back garden, started in 2003 when the house was built. Crammed with a wonderful selection of plants. Also a boardwalk along the little beck, and an old rusty railway trolley which makes a nice feature.
Just some of the 14 gardens gardens on the 4th Birstall Garden Trail.
Despite some showers really enjoyed the day, including a nice glass of Pimms.
All proceeds shared between Kirkwood Hospice and Birstall in Bloom. I hope the rain didn’t put people off after all the hard work people had put in.
( good BBQ last night. Warm, and no rain. Sat outside chatting until after 9.30)
