Bees in the lavender

It seems as if  we all have to blip a bee on lavender this week, so here's my offering! 
I also noticed a beautiful hawker dragonfly newly emerged from our pond. I couldn't get a good photo without getting very wet,but I have included my best shot as an extra. I believe it is a Aeshna cyanea which I have recorded every 23rd July for the past three years. dragonfly (This year I found  one on 28th June too.)  dragonfly
I noticed the butterflies in the garden today. There were Small White, Meadow  Brown, Hedge Brown, Brimstone and  Speckled Wood, but not  many of each.  At least there were lots of bees with a big variety of species, as well as individuals.
