Landslide Near Voe

A windy morning, and poured down.  It did clear into a sunny, warm and calmer afternoon.  Clouded over again, and threats of more rain.

After a great night at the wedding, and a poor morning, I slept much longer than usual.  I finally got going and a late breakfast.  We headed out to Brae at lunchtime, and saw big Brian and Madeline with their caravan.  Met friend Julie for walkies this afternoon.  Off to work in the shop this evening, and then a early night.

Heavy rain all night and this morning, and end result has been a landslide up north.  This is the second landslide in the area in recent weeks.  The old hills aren't very stable, and this one has naturally given way.  The other recent slide was due to the destruction site for the Viking Energy Windfarm, which proves how risky it is to build those awful things around this area, they sure don't want another death on their hands.  Thankfully no one was hurt today.  The peat and rubble cover half of the main road, and had to be blocked for a bit to clear the road again.  Taken near the Vidlin junction, on the East Hill of Voe.
