The need for swede

The vegetable sculpture competition at the Lambeth Country Show is possibly the most popular event. The entries are very witty. This was my favourite. The sculpture that won was Rih-yam-a... all the veg sculptures can be seen here.

It was a little hot to be out and about, and we all sought the small amounts of shade that we could find, which meant great numbers of people under trees. There are quite a few animals at the Lambeth Country Show – poor things. I enjoyed feeding the goats, who didn't seem to mind the crowd or the heat. They were being looked after and watered by the Vauxhall City Farm folk. Apparently during the falcon show, a falcon called Fandango flew off not to return. Hopefully, it found somewhere cool.
