This morning CyclopsJnr had just the two hotel breakfasts though this included a Full English, mixed fruit, yoghurt and and experimental carton of soya milk.

We left sharpish as we wanted to join the standby queue at the Yorvik Viking Centre - our ticket gives us entry for a year. No problem, we got in and had a third go round the ride.

We were then at Clifford's Tower when it opened and enjoyed some excellent views courtesy of our Historic Scotland card.

Then we went to the Railway Museum for a wander around and lunch. We also had a go on the miniature railway and CyclopsJnr on the playpark.

2.30pm train home, dull but uneventful, and back for tea with cyclops to tell him about our travels.

The mini break was declared a success and hopefully future mini breaks will follow.
