Leek and Potato

Today's the day ........................ to make soup

The wonderful veg boxes have started up again from NTS Threave Gardens and we had one delivered to us here yesterday.

The cost is £10 for a big box of freshly picked fruit and vegetables containing among others - monster onions, fennel, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, plums, broad beans and peas.  They have horticultural students studying on site and so presumably the veg boxes are a bi-product of their labours.

I made a big pot of leek and potato soup for lunch which, although supposedly we're in the middle of summer, was very welcome on this very damp and rather grey day ........................
