Grey evening by Balnaguie, at the end of a mostly grey day. Negligible breeze, so no hanging about as the bugs will be biting.
No joy fixing the D5200 screen yet, as I need another wee bit. The other camera is its predecessor, a D5100, with a faulty flash. Turns out that the flash works fine, but the spring that makes it pop-up, has broken off a little plastic stay, which means it doesn't rise quite far enough. Shaped a homemade part from the same type of plastic and have glued it in place with the type of adhesive used by all those Airfix and Revell model planes and vehicles of days gone by. Checked it after a couple of hours, and the joint was still soft. Will leave it a couple of days before hooking the spring under it... and hope it doesn't ping off.
The humble D5100 has been one of my favourite cameras over the years, and provided a large proportion of my Blips. Prefer it and the 16MP sensor it uses over the later 24MP models, in various ways. Good to have one again. May keep it, instead of the newer versions.
