le chapeau

Mon ami, 'Rose' (one of my very bestest friends) rings me at work today, and says:

"Nicky, (aka HareBrain) ... could you do me a favour, please?!

HB replies "of course, if I can,"

Rose: "I saw a lovely straw hat in the Charity Shop, the one next door to the funiture shop, you know the one I mean (?) and the lovely straw hat had a yellow flower on it, but I couldn't make up my mind whether I should have it or not, but when I got home I wanted the straw hat with the yellow flower on it more than life itself, but couldn't be bothered to get back in the car and drive back to town to get it. Would it be possible for you to visit the Charity shop to see if its still there, and if it is could you buy it for me as I am not sure I can live without it now"

Dutiful friend HB goes to said Charity Shop in lunch hour and spies said straw hat with yellow flower on it, and purchases it with haste.

Mon ami, Rose, is now over the moon as she is soon to be the owner of the hat she has fallen in love with!! At the moment though the hat is at my house perched on top of the carved wooden head from Bali, which sits on the lovely wooden wine rack from India.

Off to cook a Thai Green Curry now so will deliver Le Chapeau to its new owner tomorrow.
