Picture perfect

I’m ending my working week on a high; what a good week it’s been.

Two of the team who have recently celebrated birthdays, have also had their 1 year work anniversary, so Linda asked me to add 8 hours to their holiday entitlement.
She said in honour of my return to them (I originally started back in 2020 as their hygienist) and my recent birthday, she was giving me an extra 8 hours holiday too!

She may be chaotic to work with, but she’s such a kind hearted, warm person and is always treating us to little things.

It was a spur of the moment thing this morning, but I bought a bunch of sunflowers for her and left them in the staff room with a note saying ‘to brighten your day, like you brighten ours’.

She found them when she went to make a cuppa then promptly came to give me a hug, before bursting into tears.
She’d had a bit of bad news last night, so said the flowers were lift she needed.

During the morning, she told a patient I was her right hand woman, so I teased her by saying as she is left handed that makes me the useless side!
When the patient had gone, she told me I was far from useless and everyone was so pleased with the way I’ve fitted in and ‘got stuff done’, so from September I’m getting a pay rise! I didn’t expect that after 5 months.

I wanted to share the news and celebrate with Mr A, but he’s away at Brands Hatch this weekend, so a phone call had to do.

When I arrived home, my eBay order had arrived; this picture frame for my Tiffany birthday souvenirs. A picture perfect way to end the day :-)
