I Must Down to the Sea Again
Little did I know 11 weeks ago today as I swam in Hamnavoe on the last day of my Orkney holiday that I wouldn’t be in the sea again until today. It was so lovely to have a dook this morning with one of my sea buddies recently returned from France. LeeAnne was otherwise engaged so couldn’t join us.
The sea temperature was double what is was the last time I waded in but to my body unused for so long to cold water, it took a little getting used to. As we bounced in the waves, I caught up with all Sue’s news from her 2 months in France.
Later I sallied forth to meet up with Blethers and Himself for lunch at Andaluz on George IV Bridge. Three hours and a wonderful meal later when our jaws and tongues were never still for a minute, we parted company with the hope there would be another meal together soon . These two are super company.
It is all go today. Now I’m expecting some of the family to come for nibbles on the patio in the early evening. The weather is dull and uninviting at the moment, not the sort day that is particularly inviting to sit outside but we can see what the guests say when they arrive. My daughter has been in charge of the shopping and there is more than enough to feed the five thousand.
