Clematis in the rain
This morning the new four piece concert combo that I'm in, played at the Golden Lion pub in Rossett. They run a get together for elderly and disabled people of the area helped by a rota of volunteers.
It had been arranged to have an outdoor event for them in the large beer garden outside. The landlady and volunteers had spent all day Tuesday (the hottest day) making ice cream for this morning's garden party.
I was woken by heavy rain beating on the window and there have been showers all day which meant that it had to take place inside. A lot of people arrived and it so the room was very full with the addition of us and our instruments.
We played two sets consisting of songs and tunes and had the homemade ice cream and strawberries in the interval. It's typical that it rained today after such a long dry period but everyone seemed to enjoy the morning.
My garden really needed a good soaking with rain after the heat so the plants must be very happy. I have a summer flowering clematis against the fence and it looked very pretty covered with raindrops.
