Heatwave!

The extremely hot weather has reached us. 

This morning I drove Fletch up to the park rather than walk along hot pavements. We followed the path around the lake which leads through an overgrown area of shrubs and trees. Not too hot  but it was early

The heat began to build up and I went and poked about in the attic to find  my ' hot weather clothes ' box ie the clothes I used to wear on our exotic tropical destination holidays and rarely need them in the uk. I felt much cooler in the thin floaty Indian cotton skirt that I've worn in Singapore,  the Caribean and Thailand  and today for going to the Coop for icecream in 31 degrees. 

By 4 pm the thick clouds had rolled in and the temperature dropped. By teatime it was in the low 20s and so I took for a short walk with Fletch. 
Cooler tomorrow.. so the skirt will go back in the attic. 

Distressing news to see how the effect of this heat has caused fires . My heart goes out to those folk who have lost their homes.
