Sailing round the caves in Lagos
Most of us went on boat trips late afternoon. We were on small ones but we saw this very handsome ship. We passed many little beaches and the caves were cool with crystal clear water. A Brazilian man asked if he could dive in the open sea so Raymond and Jody joined him. Amelie spent a long time hesitating but in the end decided not to jump. Home for piri piri chicken, chips and salad followed by games of rummy and blob. Sophia is a bit of a card shark. As I write this ‘Bye, Bye Miss American Pie’ is playing on the radio and I’m transported back to discos in the Glasgow Men’s Union on Saturday nights - before I discovered ‘Joanna’s’ and the ‘White Elephant Club’. They say that youth is wasted on the young , but I think I was very much in the moment then and knew times were good and that I was really happy.
