The birds will miss it too
This large flowering cherry tree has been removed over the past few days. The Collared Doves used to use it as the lookout to see when I put the food out! - so far as I could tell no birds actually nested in it. It is a shame it has gone - it was lovely when the blossom came and in winter it had attractive shiny brown bark.
I can understand why - it was much too close to the bungalow and towered above it (see extra for the beginning of the felling last week) The houses here were built about 30 years ago and the developers planted several nice trees along the road - but this one is closer to the dwelling than the others.
