The Tree Paeony has aspirations...

I blipped our tree paeony as it started sprouting a few weeks back (here), and it's now growing apace, stretching up into the sky and trying to pretend it's a palm tree. It is, like several things in our garden, too big for the garden, and it's a matter of time before it comes out, I think, but for now, let it have its glory.

When we moved in, some seven years ago, it was so smothered by surrounding shrubs that it was stunted and had never flowered. Not so now, as I hope I can show later in the year.
