End of term

It's arrived, at last for them... already for me! 6 weeks lie ahead and thanks to Covid, such a prospect isn't daunting in a way it once was.  We're pretty well planned, so I'm sure it will fly by as it always does.  The slight worry is how to complete a dissertation whilst looking after the boys, but there is a plan.

I realise now that I'm a 'just in time' type of parent. We went to the green shop on the way to school to buy the end of term present and card, as well as flowers for the school bursar at the request of the boys.  She was very touched - she is brilliant at her job and holds the school together, I was very proud of the eldest for the suggestion.

School organised ice-cream for all the children at the end of school, much excitement about that!  Home for quick dinner, then out to Beavers, which was a 2 hour event in a local-ish park.  Pick-nick and play with a couple of friends for the youngest, all worked out very well indeed.

Today I'm grateful for.
Summer holidays, there is something magical about them
Good discussion with my supervisor and great feedback about some work
Spotting a combine harvester on the way to and from Beavers, we stopped on the way home and the youngest was beyond delighted at the farmer waving at him
