The hottest day!

This is Tuesday

Today was tipped to be the hottest day in parts of the UK and they were not wrong, with the hottest shade temperature recorded of 40.3°C in Coningsby Lincolnshire.
Here we struggled to keep Violet and Stella-Rose cool which was challenging and we didn't take S-R outside until the garden was shady at around 4pm.  Both girls had a great time in the paddling pool and Violet found that the water greatly help the wasp sting in the sole of her foot.
Usually we've found that wasps don't get sleepy and dangerous until later August, but this year it's mid July.
Somehow I managed to photograph these delightful flowers which are part of a bouquet that I was given on Saturday. These are my entry for Tiny Tuesday.
