Floor Is Not Lava

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

It is the school holidays here and so Fazzy invited me to join her, Hani and Zay in a trip to go and she "Minions: The Rise of Gru". 

The film itself was great fun. Made more so by the fact that Fazzy LOVES this stuff. I could hear her laughing all the way through even though she was two seats away. 

The kids thought it was ok. To be honest, I think they took HER to see this film not the other way around. 

Afterward we had a lovely time in the shopping mall in Porirua. Hani clung to my arm the whole time. In fact Fazzy told me that Hani recently announced if she ever has a baby boy, his name will be "Symon".

Aubrey also has a teddy bear called "Symon". Just saying.

After this, we went for ice-cream before allowing the kids to run amuck in the play area. 

They decided to play "Floor Is Lava" and were hopping about on a plastic bridge and plastic stepping stones, squealing and laughing. 

"That show," muttered Fazzy darkly. Apparently they have watched the entire Netflix tv series "Floor Is Lava" and it has taken over the household.

"And do YOU play 'Floor Is Lava'?" I asked her. 

"Maybe," she replied.

But she was saved by her children who were getting over-excited and in danger of falling. She told them not to be so silly.

"No! Floor is NOT lava!" she hissed as her children screamed and hung on to the plastic bridge.

"Floor is NOT lava!" she insisted.

I decided to do what I always do with small children and throw money at the problem. I offered to take them to the toy store and suddenly - as if by magic - the floor was no longer lava.
