Sally Mair - Loving life

Not scarlet runners!

Don't always believe what it says on the pack. They're definitely beans though so that's good news. I've cut down my veg growing this year by necessity as I just want up to planting out at the time because of my wrist. These beans though got past the cut as did one surviving courgette, a climbing yellow variety so that's interesting. It now has a few forming so that's good news.
Today I went to church for our lovely Wednesday service which was a real pleasure a calm space amongst the business.
When I got back we headed across town to pick up a friend and go down to Musselburgh, we'd intended going for lunch at Newhailes but it was closed today as they were filming there. Back to normal tomorrow the lady said, but that was no good to us. We parked up at the end of New Street, went to the main street and picked up some drinks and sandwiches and went and sat on the coastal path on a bench to eat. We felt like we were on a pensioner's day out, which we were I suppose. Badly behaved pensioners! Lots of birds to watch as the tide was well out and an incredibly fast whippet charging the gulls and terns on the beach.
We walked along to the river then down to Luca's for ice cream, yummy, that made me feel like I was at the other end of the spectrum and on a kindergarten day out, eyes far too big for my belly, as my dad would say.
We popped into the fish shop for some haddock for tea and then headed home. A much more pleasant day than yesterday, a dull start but a lovely warm afternoon around 25° but with a gentle cooling breeze. Perfect.
