A Different View

I don't remember ever seeing a view of the Kremlin like this before. One always imagines high red walls and imposing golden domes.

The building in the middle is the Novodevichy Convent, which I visited in 1987, when Gorbachev was making air travel on Aeroflot unbearable by banning alcohol.

I had no idea there was a beautiful lake on the other side.
