Matt's graduation
After a stressful day at work trying to get everything finished yesterday, we travelled up to York to stay in a B&B ready for an early start this morning. The bedrooms were boiling hot but we managed to get a bit of sleep and were up at the crack of dawn for a quick breakfast and a taxi trip to the University of York for Matt's graduation ceremony. He needed to be there for 8.30 to pick up his gown which was a bit OTT as the ceremony didn't start until 10 and we had loads of spare time. The ceremony was lovely with lots of clapping and we felt extremely proud when it was Matt's turn to dash across the stage. Afterwards, we took some photos in the boiling hot gardens and had the official shots taken (don't mention the fact that we had to stand on boxes because he's so tall!) before jumping in another taxi for a meal in York. Dad found the walking in the heat extremely difficult which was to be expected after his recent surgery but it was great to have him with us on Matt's special day as he's played such a big part in our boys' lives.
It was a lovely day and I was so proud of Matthew. He looked lovely in his graduation suit but I am most proud of the person he has grown into as he's kind, caring and thoughtful. Keep being you Matt and good luck with your new job. Xx
