Diary of an Edinburgher

Which dog had the zoomies?

It was cloudy this morning, so the predicted high of 30° was never going to happen, which was a relief, really. The cloud cover stayed around most of the day, so we were a comfortable high-20°s, I’d say, though I never checked.

Archie and I went out for a walk quite early - we went to the Links, where we sat on a bench in the shade for ages. He was happy sitting watching all the people and dogs going by. I was tempted to walk on to get an ice cream, but decided that I couldn’t be bothered. It was only when a woman sat on the next bench and began to shout into her phone that decided it was time to leave.

In the afternoon, JR went to the supermarket, and I started watching the new episode of BCS. My viewing was interrupted by the the arrival of Maggie and her dad, so we sat out in the back garden and had a beer, which was a much better use of a sunny afternoon. Maggie got the zoomies (Extra) and charged around with an old ball, in the sun, for ages. Archie stood and looked at her as if she was mad.

I’m finding that watching the new episodes of ‘Better Call Saul’ at the same time as re-watching ‘Breaking Bad’ is quite confusing. The former is a ‘prequel’ and so I might watch an episode of BB where someone is killed, and then I watch them in the prequel and they’re very much alive.

My back is still a bit sore, but not as bad as it has been. We sat out the back and had our tea - a most pleasant temperature, but records have been broken down south (and the Borders).
