Tree Time 2022 part 7

Feeling hot hot hot!!

Had not intended to go too far today, but I have had a quick walk to the park to Blip my tree, as you can see. The leaves are still very green unlike the grass surrounding the tree. The bark appears to be peeling - I am mot sure if that is common or if it is a response to the heat.

Later I wandered into town to get my meds from Boots. Their 10 day in advance text service is excellent - I will never again run out of medication! Or if I do it won't be my fault!

I called in to the Baggholme shop on the way home - I saw my boss was there and I wanted to confirm my hours for this week. he asked me to do tonight and I said Yes! Crazy I know, but my other shift will be Friday and Saturday. I di not fancy a Double Day tomorrow on the off chance it is still boiling and I don't want to work Thursday as there is Rugby League on TV featuring Wigan! So boiling alive tonight would appear to be the lesser evil.

At one time I'd have assumed it would be a quiet shift, but lots of other chippies in town are taking the sensible step of closing due to the heat - chippies can be hot places at the best of times! And no-one wants to stand in their own kitchen and cook any more on regular nights, let alone when that kitchen is like a sauna! It is a real shame that proper home cooking from scratch appears to be becoming a thing of the past though...
