Bottlebrush

The Bottlebrush or Callistemon in the garden is the best it has ever looked. I think that is partly because I have finally got the pruning correct. If only I had managed that from the beginning, it might have ended up a prettier, less straggly, shape. However, it’s “brushes” are superb in colour and number this year and, for the first time, I looked at them more closely. I was fascinated to see how the red “bristles” slowly uncurl from what look like a series of bursting seeds grouped along the end of each branch.
