Lowering Moon

This is an experimental image. Until now all my moonset shots have been single images. I have tweaked them a little, but this one is different. This morning the scene was beautiful to the eye, but the contrast between the moon and the landscape was too much for the camera. I could either get the moon or the landscape. To overcome this I have combined two shots to make one image. For some reason I feel guilty for having done this- hence the confession. I am afraid that all my moonset shots will be suspected as being fakes, which they are certainly not.

This is how I saw it. The long wisp of cloud is actually the top of a heavy bank. Within a few minutes the moon had disappeared behind it.

I have had a busy day. I came home from Christchurch feeling unwell, and yesterday I was not much use for anything. However, today I was fine, and worked on replenishing my ready-to-use firewood. I sawed eight barrowloads of logs and chopped a lot of kindling. The veranda is now well stocked again, and an equal amount is stacked in a shed.
