Hoverfly on Chicory

I remembered to get out early with my camera before the heat of the day withered the chicory blooms.

I've spent the day indoors with the windows and curtains closed, just diving out every couple of hours to check on Shep the Rabbit.  A big thank you must go to TMLHereAndThere who told me the story of her rabbit Ted and the stone hot water bottle.  Tony found the one we thought we had and filled it with chilled water for Shep so hopefully that will help to keep her cool in this awful weather.
