Wise Advice
Today is set to be the hottest day in the UK...ever. Temperatures are expected to top 40 degrees centigrade. Following advice given by the weatherman on the BBC, we opened all the windows first thing to cool the house down, then shut them all and closed the blinds. It feels all wrong being inside with the blinds and windows closed on a summer's day but it does seem to be working. The main difference is that we've closed the door from the house to the conservatory which has prevented all that heated air from entering the rest of the house.
Poor Ziggy isn't very happy though, he is flopped out on the floor here in the study with M and me. It's not the weather to be wearing a fur coat...but we're doing our best to keep him cool.
M and I popped down to the coast at Weybourne early this morning and spent a short while on the cliffs watching the sand martins ducking and diving as they caught flies...beautiful little birds.
